Privacy Policy

Our Commitment

ClipForge is built on a simple principle: your files and your data are yours alone. Because ClipForge is a fully browser-based tool with no backend server, we are technically incapable of receiving, storing, or accessing your videos or any personal information.

This policy explains in plain language exactly what happens — and what does not happen — when you use ClipForge.

1. Data Collection

ClipForge does not collect any personal data. Specifically:

  • No name, email address, or contact information is collected.
  • No user accounts or profiles exist.
  • No IP address logging occurs on our end (we have no server to log with).
  • No device identifiers or fingerprinting is performed.
  • No behavioural analytics or usage tracking is active by default.
  • No advertising identifiers are collected or shared.

2. How Video Processing Works

All video processing in ClipForge is performed locally inside your browser using ffmpeg.wasm — a WebAssembly build of the open-source FFmpeg library.

  • When you select a video file, it is read directly into your browser's memory.
  • Trimming, cropping, and encoding are all executed on your own device's CPU.
  • The processed output video is generated in your browser's memory and downloaded directly to your device.
  • Your video file is never transmitted to any server — not ours, not anyone's.
  • Once you close the browser tab, all in-memory data is discarded entirely.

3. Cookies

ClipForge does not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.

  • We may use a small browser localStorage entry to remember your UI preferences (e.g. chosen quality preset). This data never leaves your device.
  • No session cookies are issued by any server.
  • No cross-site tracking cookies are set.

You may clear browser storage at any time through your browser's settings without any impact on the Service.

4. Third-Party Services

ClipForge loads the following external resources to function:

  • Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com) — loads the Inter typeface. Google may log the request as per their own privacy policy.
  • unpkg.com CDN — delivers the ffmpeg.wasm JavaScript and WebAssembly binaries. unpkg may log the request as per their own privacy policy.

No other third-party services, SDKs, advertising networks, analytics platforms, or trackers are included in ClipForge.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of Google Fonts or unpkg. Please review their policies separately if you are concerned.

5. Analytics

ClipForge does not include any analytics or telemetry by default. No pageview tracking, error reporting, or usage metrics are sent anywhere. If analytics are ever added in the future, this policy will be updated and a clear opt-in will be offered.

6. Children's Privacy

ClipForge does not knowingly collect any data from children under the age of 13. Because we collect no data from any user, this applies by default. If you believe a child has somehow submitted personal data through this Service, please contact us and we will investigate.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "last updated" date. Because we collect no contact information, we cannot notify you directly — we encourage you to review this page periodically.
